1. Purpose of This Platform

DescribeYourself exists to connect Portland-area residents around outdoor and culinary activities. Members join to find activity partners, organize group events, and build community friendships. All features — profiles, the directory, chat, and messaging — must be used exclusively for this purpose.

2. Prohibited Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination:

• 🚫 Romantic or sexual solicitation of any kind, in any feature of the site
• 🚫 Sending unsolicited explicit, suggestive, or sexually themed content
• 🚫 Harassment, stalking, threatening, or intimidating any member
• 🚫 Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, or sexual orientation
• 🚫 Commercial solicitation, spam, or promoting products/services without authorization
• 🚫 Sharing another member’s personal information without their explicit consent
• 🚫 Creating fake, misleading, or impersonation profiles
• 🚫 Using the platform to organize any illegal activity
• 🚫 Posting content that is hateful, violent, or discriminatory
• 🚫 Contacting members who have blocked or ignored you through alternate accounts

3. Profile Standards

• Profiles must use your real first name (last name optional)
• Profile photos must clearly show your face and be appropriate for a public community platform
• Bios must not include personal contact information, social media handles, or links to other platforms
• All profile information must be accurate and honest

4. Chat and Messaging Rules

• All public chat channels must remain focused on Portland activities
• Private messages may only be used to coordinate activity meetups with mutual participants
• Do not send unsolicited private messages to members you have not interacted with in a group setting
• Messages are subject to review by moderators in response to reports

5. Reporting Violations

Every profile, message, and chat post has a “Report” button. Use it if you see conduct that violates this policy. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours. You can also email us directly at safety@describeyourself.com. We take all reports seriously and protect reporter privacy.

6. Enforcement

Violations will result in one or more of the following, depending on severity:

• ⚠️ A formal warning and content removal
• ⏸️ Temporary account suspension (3–30 days)
• 🚫 Permanent account termination with no refund of any paid features
• 🔒 IP ban for severe or repeated violations
• 📋 Referral to law enforcement where conduct may be illegal

7. Privacy

We collect only the information necessary to operate the platform. We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal data. Member contact information is never shared with other members without consent. For full details, refer to our Privacy Policy (linked in the site footer).

8. Acceptance of Terms
